Message from Lucy Jones, President Neuroblastoma Australia

Firstly, thank you on behalf of myself and our small Neuroblastoma Australia team for your ongoing support and kind words of encouragement over the last few months as we all navigate through the ‘new normal’ of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As you know, our Run2Cure Neuroblastoma fun run is our major event of the year; an opportunity to raise vital funds for research and a special occasion for our neuroblastoma families to come together. Sunday 6 September would have been our sixth fun run in Sydney’s Domain.

Unfortunately, given the ongoing health concerns and recent increases in infection of COVID-19 and the need to restrict gatherings, we have no choice but to cancel this year’s event in the Domain. We need to ensure we play our part within the community and put safety first. The event will now take place on 30th May 2021 so please save the date!

Our first ever virtual event in September, called Run2Cure Local, is still very much on and we would love you to join in if you haven’t already.

Run2Cure Local allows you to do your own run or walk (1k, 3k, 5k or 10k) in your own local area - so that wherever you live, you can still connect with our community over the weekend of the 5th and 6th of September and support a cure to the children’s cancer neuroblastoma.

Entry into Run2Cure Local includes a personalised running bib, access to our racing app (so you can compare your time to other 3K, 5K or 10K runners) and a 20% discount on our Run2Cure merchandise.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and I hope Run2Cure Local will enable us to raise funds for research this year. All registrants of Run2Cure receive a free GoFundraise page and if you have a moment, please do share yours with your networks and give people in your life the opportunity to donate. Even a little bit goes a long way for us to be able to continue our research grant program.

The early bird pricing for Run2Cure Local is only $10 for adults and $5 for children until 31 July. If we all bring a few friends, work colleagues, neighbours on the journey with us, we stand an excellent chance of making our very first virtual event a great success.

After the isolation of the last few months, I’m very disappointed we have had to cancel the Domain event but safety is top of mind. I very much hope that we can still come together ‘virtually’ in September for our cause - even though we’ll be physically apart.

Thank you as always for your support.

Best regards

Lucy Jones

President

Run2Cure Domain 2020 postponed till May 2021

Run2Cure Neuroblastoma will take over The Domain, Sydney on the new date of Sunday, 31 May 2021 and the best part is you'll be supporting Neuroblastoma Australia to raise funds for better, kinder and more effective treatments for the children's cancer neuroblastoma.

Visit our Run2Cure Domain page for all the latest details of our Run2Cure Neuroblastoma events.

The story of Run2Cure Neuroblastoma

Run2Cure has grown through the support of our neuroblastoma community from a small fun run in Sydney Park in 2013 to a significant annual community event with over 5000 people from all over Australia, coming together to raise awareness and desperately needed funds for research into a cure for this children’s cancer.

Run2Cure has to date raised an incredible $1 million dollars for research.

It truly was a beautiful day Lucy and you should be very proud of creating something so special. Our family and friends make it their annual event as they enjoy it so much.... and all the new team members we had this year remarked how they can’t wait to come back next year! Sarah, Bella’s mum
