Declan was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma in 2013, just before his fourth birthday. He underwent 18 months of gruelling treatment in Perth and relapsed in 2014.

Very limited treatment was available in Perth. We discovered a clinical trial at  Sydney Children's Hospital. This required us as a family to fly to Sydney every three weeks for two weeks of treatment.

This trial lasted for 14 months before Declan's tumours started growing again. In May 2017, just after his eighth birthday, Declan lost his battle to this horrific disease. Leaving his family heartbroken.
