Marko was diagnosed with neuroblastoma when he was 16 months old.

After a successful surgery which got rid of the tumour, he unfortunately relapsed 6 months later, in December 2018. He is the only known case worldwide where a low risk VIP neuroblastoma mutated into an aggressive tumour.

Marko is currently completing the rigorous protocol for stage 4 high-risk neuroblastoma and is doing really well. His cheeky, easy-going personality and unconditional love his two big brothers are showering him with are certainly contributing to his outstanding response to the harsh therapy!

When Marko completes his treatment in Australia, we will go to the USA for a vaccine trial to try and keep his disease at bay long term. This would not have been possible without the amazing generosity of the Australian community who helped us raise sufficient funds to participate in the expensive trial.

We hope that with more awareness there will be greater support for the Australian researchers and hospitals to participate in these novel international trials and bring more neuroblastoma treatment options closer to home.

It would be great if km 5 could be for Marko in hope that he remains disease free and in 5 years from now we can finally say he's been cured! Jelena and Andrija - Marko's parents
