Inspired by Jai, who courageously battled neuroblastoma from the tender age of four till he was nine years old, Natalie and Tracey ran an epic 44 km marathon in honour of 44 children affected by neuroblastoma. Read more
During September's Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Natalie and Tracey ran their first ever marathon. They pushed themselves to the absolute limit whilst raising desperately needed funds for research into a cure for this aggressive disease.
The inspiration behind #44kmfor44kids is the courage of a little boy named Jai. He valiantly battled the children's cancer neuroblastoma from the tender age of four till he was nine years old.
I want to run each kilometre for a child whose life has been taken or impacted by neuroblastoma. I want their families to know their child will never be forgotten. Natalie Bunworth
Kilometre 44 was run for Jai as that is the number of his favourite AFL player and the reason for the 44km. The first was Sienna Hoffmann the daughter of Oliver Hoffmann and Lucy Jones, President of Neuroblastoma Australia.
